personal Message from Paula C. Rogers, BC-HIS
My name is Paula C. Rogers, BC-HIS (National Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences). I am thrilled to have the honor of opening Celestial Hearing Solutions in Las Cruces. I have been in the hearing industry for nearly 30 years, and have always dreamed of having my own office.
So, a little bit about where I come from …
I started in this business in 1990 at Sandia Hearing Aids in Las Cruces, where I worked until 2012. During this time, I also travelled to and served the hearing impaired in the surrounding cities of Ruidoso, Alamogordo, Truth or Consequences, Deming, and Silver City.
I was appointed by Governor Richardson to two 2-year terms on the New Mexico State Board of Speech-Language Pathologists, Audiologists, and Hearing Instrument Dispenser.
In October of 2012, I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to work as a regional training manager for a major hearing aid manufacturer. In this position, I was responsible for one-on-one and group trainings that included hearing evaluation protocols, product information, programming, and customer service excellence.
While I was travelling all over the U.S. and Puerto Rico, I had the pleasure of sitting in and helping other Hearing Care Professionals work with their patients. However, I found, over these 5 years, that I missed the long-term connection that is made with the people we help. While working in my office, my patients were my family. I wanted to be back in a place where I could see a patient through their whole journey – from their first consultation to the success of gaining their hearing back. There is no feeling like the one I get when I am helping someone go through the steps of relearning to communicate and participate in their lives.
